Day 8: Share a local Christmas tradition in your town or country
Well first of all I come from an Island which is neither a town or country… This is quite a hard one! It’s almost like sharing number 2 again… Anyway let’s crack on with traditions!
To me it seems the turning on of lights in the UK is a big thing, there’s always famous faces, crowds of people, attractions for all ages including alcohol and bratwursts! Last year in Sheffield frozen was sang by a group of men (who are famous but their name I cannot remember)
I don’t know if it’s the same in the UK but Father Christmas comes to our little town back home and gets little helpers to turn on the christmas lights and he comes on his sleigh and everyone gathers to see him & he also goes to the bridge as well!
Carols by candlelight are a tradition but more of a faith based tradition. A ton of candles are lit, carols are sang & food and punch are consumed!
The DIY nativity is also a new tradition back at home where everyone gets up and joins in on the nativity it is absolute bedlam!
What are some of your traditions in your town or country?
Love and kisses (from underneath the mistletoe…)
(PS I’ve finished my first term of Uni (2nd year) so expect some fun and frolics on my webosphere in due course :D)
