It’s been two years!

DCWcJPBWABUilXm

Today is my TWO-YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!

I cannot believe it has been two years…

So much has happened in those two years! I feel like life has done one massive 180 degree turn. First of all thank you to all of you that still continue to follow and support my little bit of the webosphere! I really do appreciate it! You are wonderful webblings! When I first started this blog I think I had literally just finished my first year of my law degree and me and Will has decided to give things a go (as a couple). I was still living in student halls when I wrote several of my first posts and I remember I was sat on my sofa back at home when I transferred my mass posts from blogger to here!

I think one thing that has definitely changed is that I am 100% me. I am most definitely the breton stripe and dungaree wearing girl I was always meant to be! I feel completely myself where as looking back roughly two years I was just a shell of a girl. I think when I started to blog my outer shell has already started to crack but let’s just say it’s well and truly cracked now! I can guarantee you would not have found that me singing Beauty and the Beast songs in the car with Will! In fact he told me the other day I didn’t even hug him when he visited me… which is just blooming terrible!

Oh so much has changed! Some for the good, some things have not been so good! I feel like I have found my soul mate, the one who just gets me and knows me inside out and back to front. The one who embraces all my quirks (believe me there are many) and just loves me unconditionally despite my body resembling someone in their 70’s….

I never envisaged that this man would make me feel so comfortable within my skin and that he would turn out to be my very best friend. It’s funny how life goes isn’t it?

I was just a bit hard, I just wanted to have a laugh and blimey I barely phoned my parents in first year (which is unheard of because I am so incredibly close with them and like to speak to them very regularly).

I have lived in so many different places throughout the last two years:

  • Student Halls in Sheffield
  • The grim flat in Sheffield
  • The studio apartment in Sheffield
  • My home back in Guernsey
  • The latest being in Will’s house in Bristol (which we are making into a home!)

I cannot believe that I have actually finished my law degree! I cannot believe that we have taken the rather big step to move in together after dreaming about living with my bestie since the moment I met him! I still cannot believe that I have a job and that I start work in a few weeks time!

I love to look back at the dreamy memories that I/we’ve made over those last two years and think about the wonderful things we have seen and the places we have been to! In some ways I am so so thankful that I chose to document these precious moments because they will always remain on here for me to read back when I am grey and old.

I’m looking forward to sharing my new life here in Bristol with you all and showing the house as it evolves and develops into a little home! There are a lot of things to look forward to!

Some things to look forward to in the upcoming months?

  • Starting work
  • Housie things
  • Learning to drive and getting my dream mini cooper!
  • Our holiday to Turkey
  • Me turning 23
  • Will’s sister having her baby
  • Will’s Birthday

One chapter of Charzweb may have closed (i.e. being an undergrad) but there is so much more to look forward to! I hope you’ll stick around for some serious adulting as I like to put it!

Here’s to the third blogiversary! I might be a working woman now but I still plan to document my life here!

Thank you for sticking with me!

Let’s raise a metaphorical glass to many more years of documenting this dreamy life!

A bit of a soppy post…

If soppy things are not your cup of tea then you might want to veto this post right away.

Ok so here we go….

Today is my love’s Birthday and unfortunately I cannot be with him on his special day, which of course makes me sad. I love this man more than words can say. I love our adventures. I love stumbling across hidden gems off the beaten track. I love the beautiful and wondrous sights that we have seen as a couple.

I love cosy nights in with beard rubs, snuggles and a marathon film session. I love going to quaint little pubs with my love in the country side and spying all the cute canine friends that have taken our fancy.

fyi I now drink ale!

We have done and been to so many dreamy places. I cannot even list the places we have been and the things that we have done. There are so many wonderful and magical memories that the two of us have shared along the way.

I feel so blessed to be on this journey of life with this incredible man who always makes me smile and laugh. I just feel so darn grateful that I stumbled across someone who is literally not only my boyfriend but my absolute best friend. Time we spend together is so incredibly precious. I value every single minute we spend together. I am so so so excited about the future, I’m excited about future adventures and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for us as a couple.

I love you Will, I’m gutted that work commitments are keeping us apart but I promise that next year I will make up for it. Thank you for being you, thank you for being unique and wonderful. So let’s raise a metaphorical class to my hunbun whose Birthday it is today!

Happy Birthday Will xxx

My 21st year of life has taught me a lot…

2209ca562527f177a7412c4b178cdb24
One wise lady that Taylor!

I feel like I now qualify for this kind of post. I have been twenty one for roughly four and a bit months. So what has the glorious two-one bought me you ask? Quite a lot. I have changed a lot in a year…

  • My stamina for nights out has taken a turn for the worse… I mean on one hand I could have bloodied feet through forcing myself to dance the night away in ridiculous shoes, freezing my boobs off in that tiny dress and could be queueing for disgusting toilets which NEVER have soap… let alone toilet roll!… OR I could curl up in my bed with my laptop, a brew, a colouring book and crappy tv! It’s a hard choice isn’t it!
  • I realised that the guy that I fell madly and deeply in love with on a cruise  was merely a school girl crush and it was never real actual l.o.v.e… Vishal was a waiter on a cruise ship who cracked open my lobster and made my childish heart flutter. I’m sure we’ve all had these moments, right? Please humour me!!!  Will was there when I turned 21, he’s the one that knows how to give blooming amazing neck and head massages and can appreciate my sass!  All things good come to those who wait and don’t run off with a waiter on a cruise ship aged 16!
  • Cravings are real. Y’know sometimes you are going to just want that honey yogurt with granola and mars milkshake along with mango all at the same glorious time. It’s ok. It happens to the best of us. Oh and don’t forget the cheese.
  • Alcohol can help. When I’m stressed, wound up, being a diva, crying on someones shoulder (you get the picture) WINE IS FRIEND… say it with me! Wine is friend! Life can be traumatic (Such as driving a car or getting on a train) sometimes you need some of that grapey stuff, it’s ok!
  • Stuff gets REAAAAL! Like life is really happening, you are midway/finished your education, now it’s time to like y’know start thinking about scary things like jobs, rentals, ISA’S and so forth… I think that is a perfect legitimate excuse to need alcohol. Who wants to be an adult, like hell no. It’s scary and daunting.
  • Nights in with your bf/gf, husband/wife etc are cool! I mean what is better than pjs, rom-com, chips & dips and olives?!? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
  • You might just get a little soppy in your old age of twenty-one, you might well up at shows you never expected to cry at, you might find yourself nearly in tears over absolutely nothing. It’s ok, somedays a girl just feels like scoffing her face with all the food and sobbing.
  • Pet names are ok (if used behind closed doors)
  • Hormones aka the blind folded roller coaster ride of your life- peaks and dips (you never know what’s coming up next…)
  • It is perfectly acceptable to get excited over food shopping, food is one of my big loves in life, so why the heck can I not get over excited about toffee apple squash and dairy lea bacon dunkers (yes it’s a thing you heard me correct!) thank goodness Asda didn’t sub on them!
  • My 21st year of life lead me to the discovery of the BANANA & CHICKEN CURRY which is life (thanks Radhuni’s for always providing top notch narna curries! It’s called Kashmir (its fruity and delish)
  • Colouring is a fabulous way to have well needed me time, it also passes a LOT of time!
  • Sporcle is love. Sporcle is life. You will sit there on it for hours frantically typing to only realise that you are diabolical at spelling and not that fast on the keys ho-hum!
  • It’s the little things that count, you don’t need big fancy pants things to make you calm and happy! A little head massage and neck rub (maybe I’m an actual cat) does the trick every time. I’m really not that high maintenance see!!!

So my darlings, there’s few nuggets of wisdom from twenty one year old me! Y’know people say your 20’s are just downhill from there onwards… don’t listen to them! I was shown a blooming marvellous video of an 81 year old woman playing knock and run! Never too old to have fun

Leeds Christkindelmarkt (German Christmas Market)

Morning my little web makers! How are we all this chilly November morn? I haven’t really done an ‘adventuring around’ kind of blog post in a little while and this weekend me and Will headed to Leeds to wander around the German Christmas Market (otherwise known as the Christkindelmarkt! It wasn’t as big as we expected and it was pretty pricey BUT we had a good time and we found an ale house which had outside patio heaters and lamps and life was good! The weather was pretty shoddy to be quite honest but we persevered and decided to make buying a hat our first priority! We found primark within seconds of leaving the station and proceeded to try on a LOT of hats! Now let me just say that I really struggle to find hats that suit me so it took a LONG time but Will eventually found one that looked alright! Anyway enough chatting I shall start from the very beginning!

Yesterday was Will’s birthday and my honey turned 25 ❤ I of course wanted to make it a special day so I had planned to go to Leeds to explore the Christmas market (forgetting that it is winter and the weather is incredibly unpredictable…) but we went! But first it was present time!

12317663_1676225252655306_1095320955_n
Will took this not me! but he got an array of Will themed things 😉 then it was time to get ready and to face the weather…
12331402_1252128704813025_2128393359_n
We walked to Sheffield station, bought our tickets and headed straight to a coffee shop! I of course opted for a girly vanilla latte which happened to come in the CUTEST penguin cup and I stupidly decided to buy Will a large americano… this meant we paid a lot of visits to toilets in Leeds… whoops! Sorry babe!

We got on the direct quickest train from Sheffield to Leeds and just ended up looking at each other thinking why on earth are we heading further north in this weather (it was gusty, cold and torrential rain) not ideal when both of us are not exactly that well wrapped up or wearing the most sensible of coats!

12237213_1623325067932887_507899959_n
Yes the weather was atrocious…

We got to Leeds and like I said legged it to Primark to buy hats! Will chose me a light beige fleece lined bobble hat and I chose him a burgandy/red hat which matched his jumper nicely! We then thought we’d head to the market which ended up to be a little tricky as our mapping aid system was struggling as we were surrounded by really really tall buildings! I knew it was in Millenium Square and sure enough it was and we started wondering through! It didn’t take long for us to buy a german equivalent of a hot dog! We decided to share because they were pretty massive and it was pretty darn cute if I’m honest!

I don’t know how he does it… he even makes eating look gorg! It was yum and it hit the spot!
12279070_10207393510183612_1862302986308644394_n-1
Now can you see what I mean about me and hats anyway I have decided I shall embrace hats because they are warm and I apparently look cute!? Who knows but I shall be a hat wearer here forth! We of course had to take a cute couple selfie which makes me look about 12…

Then it was time to explore the stalls of the market and try and find the mulled wine stall (which FYI we did…)

12294862_10207393293858204_1953805870180494026_n-2
We found the mulled wine chalet and of course couldn’t resist! It was super pricy as you had to pay a deposit for the mugs (which was returned if you gave it back) but I kept mine because I’m a girl and it’s memory of a dreamy adventure on my loves birthday! It was yummy and warm and very much needed!
12299112_10207393292058159_367880702043991974_n
There was a whole variety of different stalls selling different things but this one in particular captured Will’s eye as his family have these at home and he of course wanted to give these a go! I have a video on instagram but cannot sadly post it on here hohum!
12301777_10207393284577972_2993001230381069520_n
It really did feel festive as everyone was bundled up and eating and drinking and be generally merry! It was a lovely atmosphere despite the weather!
12314043_10207393285858004_234174542564602315_n
We both reminisced about little wooden toys that we had when we were little and admired all the beautiful wooden toys because let’s face it wooden toys are pretty darn cute and classy!
12316292_10207393293138186_6395400485679806395_n
There was so many food stalls selling a whole array of German delights! For example chocolate, waffles, burgers, sausages and so forth! It all smelt absolutely divine!

12295312_10207393282617923_1723107052687706755_n
There was also a traditional carousel which looked lovely and just added to the all over vibe of the place!
12274406_10207393284417968_124846829232646430_n
Despite the weather the place was crowded!
12301742_10207393292138161_3301031452227235144_n
It successfully got me (possibly Will) into the Christmas spirit!

We then headed for an ale house which had been recommended by Will’s work colleague and like I said just sat and drank outside under the heaters away from the rain and enjoyed each others company and it was a really lovely way to end our time together in Leeds!

12316453_10207397856652271_2343282953719583846_n
Of course I have red wine in hand and Will has ale!

We then got back on the train to Sheffield made a pit stop at Wetherspoons where we shared a plate of nachos with pulled pork, had a few more drinks and wandered back together in the wind and rain (how romantic ha ha!) It really was a lovely day and altogether a lovely weekend with my love! So here is to Will! I really hope this next year will be as magical and dreamy as possible!

Until next time! Love & hugs xxx
