Sometimes life doesn’t go to plan.

Hello it’s meeeee!

It has been a little while since this girl posted on here. I do not particularly want to go into the deets of my life… BUT I do want to acknowledge the fact that sometimes life just doesn’t go to plan no matter how hard you try.

So nearly a month ago I become a law graduate (I blooming got a 2.1, I’m so proud of little old me!) and I made the move to Bristol to be with my baby (that’s Will… not an actual baby FYI). However since I’ve moved to Bristol I have been in quite the sorry state so to speak. For those of you that have read my previous posts would already know that I’ve been having trouble with my left foot for over two months now and it was only a recent development that I can now walk around the shops without my trusty crutch (which has been with me absolutely EVERYWHERE).

I know I’ve not been my self because I have actively chosen to chuck myself in a wheelchair at any given opportunity because I simply just did not have it in me to walk… seemed a tad dramatic especially as I am used to ankle injuries and have managed amicably in the past. I suppose at some points I did second guess why I was feeling quite so ropy.

Anyhoo, my foot basically just turned ‘sassy’ over night and I was complaining to Will… oh my foot hurts, does it look swollen? I really can’t walk on this. It did all seem a tad odd especially as it was my left side (the side that is determined to be an absolute sass pot!)

Then probably around 2.5 weeks ago something else happened, something which was a little more scary. Something which made Will phone the doctor and basically dragged me kicking and screaming about all my ‘issues’. So that appointment was literally so surreal. The things she said to me, I don’t really think I was taking it all in. The result of that appointment amounted in a further referral to a certain kind of specialist and a quick turn around appointment for a procedure. It has been quite the action packed time! What with all these medical thingies.

I don’t want to go into details, but I’ve had to put ‘things’ on hold for now. I’ve had to admit that I just need a bit of time out from e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g

The whole sodding point of this post is that life isn’t exactly going to plan, its not quite panning out as I had envisaged BUT I have so much to be thankful and grateful for! I am so blooming blessed to be surrounded by the most fantastic cheerleaders imaginable (female and male may I add).

I didn’t plan to start our co-habiting life together quite like this?

You know what? Life is what you make of it? What good is there staying in bed and just worrying yourself and wasting precious moments thinking about the what ifs? I’m not letting this small set back phase me because in the scheme of things I’m one lucky girl to have all that I have and to have such an amazing support network!

The moral of this post is that sometimes things don’t go to plan but it doesn’t mean it’s the end of absolutely everything, I try to think of it as a small diversion? I suppose I’ve got to add a good 45 mins onto my journey due to a certain road being closed (which admittedly is blooming annoying but it’s not the end of the world is it?)

So my life motto for life right now is this…

GINย &ย ONย IT

(it actually matches the colour of my top…)

It’s Fri-yay… lets chat!

it’s been a little while, apologies!

So quite a lot happened in those two weeks. It was rather a fun and action packed fortnight to be quite honest! If you follow me on IG you probably already know!

Anyway, the weekend before last was a girly weekend! My Mum, Auntie and Cousin visited me and we had a weekend of all the food, drinks and laughs! It was a fab weekend!

As you can see we ate all the tapas and thoroughly enjoyed happy hour at Las Iguanas! I actually stayed with them in their hotel and it was like having one long sleep over with my faves! We also ventured to Meadow-Hell and ate more food at various different restaurants! We also went into ALL of the department stores and caused chaos with trying on various different hats! We have all agreed that Mumsie requires one massive hat because those small things simply do not do it! We laughed till we cried and took many a silly photograph! We also ran around Sainsburys on a ready salted crisps mission (tipsy may I add).

I’m so glad that we all managed to find a weekend that we could all do! It’s crazy to think this will be the last girly weekend in the North!

One word heckie.

I’m going to apologise in advance because I am legit going to post another post in like 0.5 seconds about the weekend after with Will.

You cannot say I don’t spoil you all ๐Ÿ˜‰

See you in 5

Monthly gratitude & things to look forward to: January 2017

If you have been following me for a while, you’d know I used to do weekly gratitudes but with life somewhat getting in the way it has been some time since I have written a gratitude. Whilst I was setting my filofax up it dawned on me how I haven’t shown my gratitude towards this dreamy adventure. I think it is more achievable to write a monthly gratitude! So my little webblings that is what is going to happen. I shall post a monthly gratitude which will consist of a small summary, things I am looking forward to as well as six reasons why I am grateful!

Lets’ go!

We are two weeks into the new year, my heart is most definitely full. I feel somewhat overwhelmed with sheer gratitude and anticipation for the coming year. I feel like a child who has been let loose in a toy shop. So far 2017 is treating us well. It the year in which a lot of changes will happen and there are a considerable number of milestones which will need to be documented along the way. So far January 2017 has been quite laid back, I’ve spent precious time with my family as life is about to change and I will not be popping back home anytime soon. I have had some delicious food and had the tastiest steak with my parents the other night! I also went out for food with my Auntie and Mum on Friday for lunch as well as coffee, brunch and catch ups with the girls!

This is my final weekend in Guernsey for quite some time, today we went on a lovely wintery walk (me and Mum) and stopped for a cheeky hot chocolate at Bordeaux. It was beautiful. Such a precious moment to hold onto and treasure.

Things to look forward to:

  • Being reunited with Will in Bristol
  • Each day spent in Sheffield is a step closer to the last
  • Settling back into a routine
  • Cooking meals and cakes in a mug
  • Getting back to my 10k steps a day

Six gratitudes:

  • Precious moments spent with those I love.
  • Being reunited with my one and only.
  • Delicious food consumed with nearest and dearest.
  • Catch up with friends
  • Dreams about the future
  • Upcoming big and exciting changes

Lets talk about 2016!

Hello Chums!

I thought it was about time that I start talking about 2016! I know there areย so manyย of these type of posts and it gets a bit tedious… so I apologise in advance! In hindsight 2016 most definitely had it’s ups but it also had it’s downs… but you know what? I wouldn’t change anything because right now my life is incredible and I am so very very blessed. So my loves, lets start where it all began!

2016 started back in our homeland, Guernsey with our nearest and dearest! In January I spent quality time with my parents and my family before I flew back to the UK to be reunited with William (who was in Reading) We visited Stonehenge in January as well as spending our weekend visiting various museums in London! I was then a rather sad girly as I had to leave my love and make the journey back to the North for semester 2!

Feb was a fairly quiet month! It was Valentines day but me and Will were not together on the day! I think it was the month I started my dreading driving lessons in Sheffield! The less said about that the better… Actually February was a bit of a crap month. My Gran was extremely poorly and everyone thought that was it. I remember having multiple phone calls from my Mum to say my final goodbyes. I went out with the girls a few times for pizza and wine.

March was a much better month! It started with a visit from my parents which was well needed! Will also visited me and we went to the Lady Bower reservoir and played in the snow! I also made a quick trip home to see my family which coincided with the birth of Sebby! I also started working for a local law firm and had to conduct research! Looking back March was quite the hectic month!

April started off with me still in Guernsey! However I flew back to Manchester on the 4th as it was the beginning of exam period! April involved a lot of revision and a visit from Will! We visited Chatsworth House, had cream tea, ate tapas, saw baby lambs, I covered my wall in a sea of post it notes and went on a bit of a food health kick! I basically spent the month revising in short.

May was the month of all things fun… exams! I had about 6 exams in the space of a week and a half. During this time I was poorly and was surviving off Pom Bears! Woo. This month consisted of late night mock exams & more post it notes! Oh and care packages to see me through! Then the best bit… was GOING HOME and leaving my awful second year flat! It was disgusting!

June was a bit of an up and down month! Me and Will went on holiday to France for two weeks. The first week was spent in Beynac Cazenac in a beautiful property overlooking the river. The second week was spent in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in another beautiful property! We saw many beautiful things and explored many different places but it was bitter sweet for many different reasons. Never the less it was all part of this crazy journey of life!

July was a bit of a rocky old month. In particular the 11th July. But I am not dwelling on that. Instead I am going to focus on the good bits! I spent many a happy afternoon/evening on the beach with my family and friends! AND I had my first swim in the sea back in Guernsey! I also started my work placement at another law firm, it was my wonderful Mum’s birthday!

In August I started a bit of a health kick… might not have lasted all that long however… I spent a lot more time at the beach (I was a definite beach bum) I also spent a weekend with Will in the UK! It was spent Pokemoning, drinking Ale, exploring IKEA, adventures in London as well as eating an abundance of delicious food! It was also a month of celebrating as it was my wonderful parents 25th wedding anniversary and Will was over for his sisters upcoming wedding!

September started with Lucy and Reco’s wedding (Will’s sister) which was absolutely beautiful! It was also the month that I had to go back to the UK, I also turned 22 in a beautiful log cabin in the Peak District with my parents and Will! Oh and I become the resident of a rather cute studio for final year!

October was the month I settled back into university life! Will also visited me which was absolutely wonderful! I got to grips with my new module and started with my weekly placement in a law firm! When Will visited we went geocaching and visited some beautiful places and made friends with some cows! Oh GBBO was also pretty darn important in my life (especially Selasi!) Oh and lots of cups of tea โค

November was quite a hectic month! It was also my reading week which I spent with Will in Reading for around 10 days! This was the final time I’d be heading down to Reading as my darling boy was getting ready to move to Bristol! During reading week, Will surprised me with a weekend away in Bristol! It was such a fun weekend! We went out with his best friend, raided the isles of a 24 hr Sainsbury and explored the Welsh countryside! I also started getting very excited about Christmas!!!

And finally it was December! It was the month of deadlines and absolute stress but towards the end it was filled with dreamy things with my nearest and dearest! My wonderful Mumsie visited me in Sheffield and flew home with me and Will came home! It was rather fabbie! We built a gingerbread house, went out with family & friends, spent quality time together and basically just had a really lovely time! Oh and not forgetting my wonderful Moomin advent calendar which was a gift from my gorgeous boy!

So my darlings! There is a whirlwind tour of my 2016!ย I am so incredibly excited about 2017! There is so much to look forward to and I honestly cannot wait! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my year! Here’s to the next! Thank you for sticking with me โค

Love and hugs
